The Society of Economic Geologists (SEG) is an international organization of individual members with interests in the field of economic geology. SEG Student Chapters seek to bring together like minded individuals interested in better understanding our resource-rich environment and the minerals it contains and promote this knowledge.

WHO ARE WE?

The Student Chapter SEG – UFMG was founded in 2008 at UFMG (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais), in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, as the first brazilian student chapter. We are a group of graduate and post-graduate geology students that aims to help promote the study of mineral deposits through the application of geological science into exploration, evaluation, and production, as well as the dissemination of this information through lectures, publications, courses, meetings, field trips and workshops.
